Greater opportunities to access the initiatives supported by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation
The Italian Development Cooperation Agency (AICS) has just officialized the registration of Haliéus in the Register of Civil Society Organizations (OSC) and other non-profit entities that can carry out international cooperation initiatives with the support of Agency, pursuant to art. 26 of Law no. 125/2014.
"Over the years Haliéus has operated mainly through European programs - declares the director Francesca Ottolenghi - but today the recognition of Haliéus in the CSOs register at the AICS will allow us to open new opportunities for the benefit of cooperation between cooperatives at an international level ".
Haliéus, Legacoop's structure for international development cooperation, contributes to sustainable development at an international level by promoting the cooperative business model as a tool for empowering individuals and communities, enhancing the experience and expertise of the cooperative enterprises member of Legacoop in the different economic sectors.
In the wake of this new recognition, Haliéus and its associated structures are now planning new projects and initiatives aimed at valorizing the commitment of cooperative enterprises in international development cooperation. Commitment demonstrated - for instance - by the several projects that Haliéus and Legacoop have recently censed through on the Platform dedicated to International Cooperative Development initiatives https://ddp.halieus.it/.
