In New Delhi from November 25 to 30, the Global Cooperative Conference of the International Cooperative Alliance

The Global Cooperative Conference 2024 of the International Cooperative Alliance will take place in New Delhi from November 25 to 30. One of the highlights of the event program will be the launch of the International Year of Cooperatives, declared for 2025 by the United Nations.

Legacoop, along with colleagues from the International Cooperative Alliance, has been invited to contribute to several panels, including:

  • On the opening day of the conference, November 25, President Simone Gamberini will inaugurate the panel "Cooperatives Building Prosperity for All" dedicated to the contribution of cooperatives to territorial development, sharing the example of cooperative growth in Emilia Romagna;
  • On November 26, Legacoop Vice-President and ICA Board Member Attilio Dadda will speak at the panel "Positioning Cooperatives in Global Policy" to share with the global cooperative movement the achievements of the Italian Cooperative Alliance in contributing to the G7 works under Italy’s presidency through the C7 consultation group;
  • November 27 will be dedicated to Cooperative Identity, with contributions from Francesca Ottolenghi, Head of the International Office, during the ICA’s Global Consultation session on Cooperative Identity, sharing the results of Legacoop’s consultation with its members, and an address by Francesca Federzoni, President of Politecnica and Vice-President of Legacoop, during the panel "Promoting Cultural Heritage and Purposes through Cooperatives".
  • On the afternoon of November 27, Piero Ingrosso, President of PICO, will join the panel "Cooperatives, and Digital and New Technologies", while Chiara Carini of Euricse will present work done in collaboration with Legacoop on measuring the impact of cooperatives.

Generazioni will also play a prominent role at the Global Conference, thanks to the participation of Anna Loscalzo, President of the Youth European Cooperative Network, who will contribute to revitalizing the global youth cooperative network, including through the  COOPATHON. during the conference.

The Global Conference will also provide opportunities for numerous bilateral meetings with cooperative organizations from partner countries, fostering new synergies at the institutional level while laying the groundwork for new partnership opportunities for member enterprises.
